PEER REVIEW PROCESS AT RESEARCH CONFERENCE FOR VIETNAMESE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (VIETRESCON 2025)

Peer review is vital to the quality of published research. VIETRESCON 2025 requires that all conference papers go through a peer review process before being accepted for presentation.

🔍 HOW DOES IT WORK?

Peer review is the process by which a scientific paper is evaluated by a group of professors or experts to ensure it meets the necessary academic and ethical standards.

At VIETRESCON 2025:

  • ✅ The Technical Program Committee (TPC) collaborates to review and discuss submitted papers.

  • ✅ Review occurs during a fixed window of time. All authors are notified of the decision at the expected deadline.

  • ✅ The TPC Chair is ultimately responsible for the final selection of accepted papers.

  • ✅ The process uses a single-anonymous review model: reviewers know the authors’ identities, but authors do not know who reviews their paper.

This format ensures reviewers can provide honest and impartial evaluations.

📝 WHAT ARE REVIEWERS LOOKING FOR?

During the peer review process, reviewers evaluate each submission based on the following criteria:

  • ✅ Scope: Is the topic appropriate for the high school student level and the conference themes?

  • ✅ Innovation: Is the material distinct from previously published work?

  • ✅ Validity: Is the research well-designed and methodologically sound?

  • ✅ Data: Are data reported, analyzed, and interpreted accurately?

  • ✅ Clarity: Are ideas clearly, concisely, and logically expressed?

  • ✅ Compliance: Are ethical and publication standards met?

  • ✅ Advancement: Does the paper contribute meaningfully to the field?

  • ✅ Use of AI Tools: Has AI (e.g., ChatGPT, image generators, code assistants) been used ethically and transparently in the research and/or writing process?

📌 PEER REVIEW DECISIONS

Peer review decisions are announced at the designated time. Authors may receive one of the following outcomes:

  • ✍️ Accept: The paper is approved for presentation. Authors may be asked to submit the final camera-ready version.

  • ✍️ Accept with Revisions: The paper will be accepted after implementing the reviewers’ suggested changes. A revised version must be submitted.

  • ❌ Reject: The paper is not accepted for presentation at VIETRESCON 2025.
